Students who enrol at Macleay College are joining an institution that has been consistently named by industry as by far the best in the fields in which it teaches. Over the last thirteen years, Macleay has won more industry awards in these areas than any other tertiary education institution in Australia.
These awards have been won by Macleay not just against other colleges and universities, but against the top professionals in industry. Macleay turns out students who are not only highly employable but who are widely recognised as the best in the business.
When you gain a qualification from Macleay you join an elite group who have better career prospects than from any other tertiary education institution - college or university - in their fields.
Quality of Education
The reason for Macleay’s success is the quality of education it provides. The college was founded by educationalists whose philosophy is based on small classes and individual attention. Macleay has better staff/student ratios, better qualified lecturers, better computer and equipment ratios and smaller classes than any educational institution in its field.
Macleay lecturers have tertiary qualifications and teach only in their own fields. A substantial number of staff lecture at the college while maintaining current positions at executive level in the industry. Macleay’s policy is that current professional practice is essential for tertiary educators to provide relevant, up-to-date skills and good contacts within industry.
Technology
Computer literacy is today essential in industry. Macleay has set up one of Sydney’s biggest computer training centres, giving the college a ratio of computers to students of 1 to 5 - significantly higher than in any other tertiary education institution.
Location
Macleay College is located in Sydney’s central business district. It is in high quality, air-conditioned offices at 175 Liverpool Street, overlooking Hyde Park. It is next to Museum Railway Station and on the direct route of buses from Circular Quay, Central Railway and the eastern suburbs.
