    What you will learn in our Advertising Course

    Our highly regarded Diploma of Advertising is a vocationally oriented course for those wanting to step into a successful career in the advertising industry. It also offers students who have previously studied business, graphic design or writing an opportunity to specialise their skills and launch their advertising careers.

    This advertising course covers all aspects of contemporary advertising across three major areas: creative problem-solving and digital production, account management and media planning, and market research and marketing.

    You’ll learn how Advertising agencies and other affiliated creative businesses are structured and run. You’ll gain project-based experience in the creative process, the production requirements for print, broadcast and social media, and in marketing and media. To round out your studies you’ll also be given working knowledge about PR, legal and ethical issues relevant to the industry.

    Valuable real-world experience

    During your final trimester of the advertising diploma, you’ll put your knowledge into practice through our industry recognised internship placement program. Here you’ll gain hands-on work experience, develop your own list of professional contacts and be completely job-savvy before you’ve even graduated.

    At the end of the year you’ll have a full portfolio of work including print ads, radio and television commercials, social media projects and marketing and media reports.

    2 years Part-Time – equates to 1-2 days per week at Macleay College, 6 to 12 hours face to face with your teachers. 2-3 units per trimester.

    Diploma of Advertising graduates have an automatic pathway into this Bachelor of Arts degree. In order to gain the correct number of units, applicants must also concurrently do an Advanced Diploma of Communications through Macleay College. The end result is 3 qualifications in just 2 years of study.
  • Course Fees

    Macleay College’s Diploma of Advertising is run over 12 months or three trimesters. Fees are charged on a trimester basis. The tuition fee per trimester is $8,200. The total fee for this diploma is $24,600. Fees can be paid in full to Macleay College, or students can have their fees paid through the FEE-HELP Tuition Assistance Scheme or via a combination of both.

    FEE-HELP

    Macleay College is an approved higher education provider for FEE-HELP, the government loan scheme that assists eligible students to pay their tuition fees. To be eligible for FEE-HELP, including for our advertising courses in Sydney, you must meet citizenship and residency requirements. A 25% loan fee applies for FEE-HELP loans for undergraduate courses of study. The loan fee does not count towards your FEE-HELP limit.

    Fee-paying Students

    Fee-paying students may choose to use Eftpos, Direct Deposit or Credit Card. Visa, Master, American Express and Diners Club cards are all accepted.

    Higher Education Loan Program (HELP)

    The Australian Government also provides assistance to higher education students enrolled in studies in Australia and who wish to complete part of their studies in an overseas country. This assistance is through the Higher Education Loan Program (HELP).

    A refundable $300 deposit will reserve your place in your preferred course. In the case fee-paying students, it can be used as a part contribution to your first instalment.
