Macleay College Hall of FameMacleay College recognises some outstanding graduates

In 2012 Macleay College started its Hall of Fame to recognise graduates who have excelled in their fields since graduation. Each year we will add worthy recipients in each field. Please get in touch if you know someone who should be nominated for the 2013 edition.

The 2012 Hall of Fame Ceremony saw Yalda Hakim (Journalism, 2005), Ivan Bresic (Business, 1996) and Jye Smith (Marketing, 2005) awarded at a ceremony in front of Macleay College students as well as their peers. Watch the short interviews below to find out more about how each of these remarkable individuals have excelled in their chosen fields.

 

Business Management Graduate

Ivan Bresic, Real Estate Agency owner

Ivan Bresic graduated from Macleay College in 1996 with a Diploma of Business Management. He formed his own real estate agency, Bresic Whitney, at the age of 23 and the rest is history. Ivan now employs more than 50 staff and has more than 25% market share in Surry Hills, Redfern and Darlinghurst.

Journalism Graduate

Yalda Hakim, co-host of Dateline

Yalda graduated from Macleay College in 2005 with the Diploma of Journalism. She then went on to become co-host of Dateline, the award-winning current affairs show on SBS. Yalda's reportage of global issues is peerless in Australia and today she is oneĀ of our leading journalists. Yalda will move to London in December 2012 to host her own current affairs show on BBC World News - a fantastic achievement.

Business Management Graduate

Jye Smith, Digital Strategist

Jye Smith graduated from Macleay College in 2005 with the Diploma of Business Management. This year he was voted by B&T Magazine as one of Australia's Top 30 People to Watch Under the Age of 30 in the Digital World. Jye has also just been promoted to Vice-President - Digital, Asia Pacific for Weber Shandwick. He is now based in Hong Kong and works with 18 regional offices.
