INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

International students currently studying at or who have graduated from Macleay College have come from Brazil, China, Colombia, Fiji, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Poland, Russian Federation, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, the Netherlands, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, the USA, Vanuatu and Vietnam.

Our courses are internationally recognised in all countries in which Australian educational credentials are recognised. All of our international students have been able to find work in their country of origin.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Enrolments are accepted on a first-come, first served basis for applicants who fulfil the educational requirements. There is a limited number of places in all courses so applicants are advised to enrol early.

Successful applicants will receive an offer letter within two weeks of receipt of their application. The offer letter will request payment of semester one and any additional fees (for example, showreel fee or overseas student health cover). Applicants will receive their Confirmation of Enrolment form once these fees have been paid.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

The minimum entry requirement is the completion of the overseas equivalent to the Higher School Certificate, completed at the end of year 12 in Australian secondary schools. Copies of academic transcripts should be included with the application form.

An international student whose first language is not English should be able to speak and write English well. To be accepted for Enrolment, an international student should produce evidence of English language proficiency at the following level (or equivalent):

COURSE DATES FOR YEAR 2008

Macleay College’s timetable is based on an academic year of two semesters, with courses commencing in February.

Semester one: 4 February - 27 June 2008
Semester two: 14 July - 5 December 2008

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT HEALTH COVER

Australian Government regulations require all international students to have current health insurance coverage for their period of time in Australia. If required, Macleay College will organise this insurance coverage for the student. Our current insurance provider is Medibank Private.

A student visa cannot be granted until the student health insurance coverage has been paid. The current cost for 12 months coverage is AUD$348.00. Macleay will organise this for the student upon receipt of payment.
