Roisin-Conroy.pngTell us a bit about yourself
I grew up in the eastern suburbs of Sydney and am currently in my early 20’s.

What are your aspirations?
I have great interest in the Australian property market and would love to buy in soon. I aspire to own a decent portfolio of property investments to increase my future passive income and also to have a successful career in real estate.

Why did you choose the course?
Towards the end of high school, I had decided I would either take the marketing or real estate route. I knew I wanted to complete my real estate studies however was still interested in a career in marketing. The course was the perfect balance as it gave me the marketing knowledge that I apply to my current role in real estate and for future positions.

The real estate subjects were very in depth which was great compared to most short courses out there. The 1-year Diploma was exactly what I needed. I was able to get into the workforce and progress my career sooner than most.

What was the Macleay experience like?
Really enjoyable, I loved the atmosphere as well as the student and lecturer relationships. All the lecturers were lovely and had great knowledge and experience in their fields.

Where did you intern during your studies?
I completed my internship at Richardson & Wrench, Potts Point. The largest residential property management/sales agency in the Elizabeth Bay/Potts Point area. This enabled me to assist all different people/roles in the office, glad I had this experience as I now have a good grasp of where I envision myself in my future real estate career.

Professionally, what are you up to now?
I am currently a property manager at the same agency, I've been here 2 ½ years now and loving it. I started full-time as a leasing manager and then transitioned to a role as a property manager. The job can be stressful at times but quite enjoyable working with all sorts of clients and properties.

Our agency has a great working culture. My directors and colleagues are all lovely people, everyone is always happy to help each other and see each other strive.
