What are you doing now?
I am a content and community specialist at Digivizer, a data-driven company that helps businesses to make better decisions about their investment in digital marketing.
What motivated you to choose this career path?https://www.macleay.edu.au/diploma-digital-media
After seeing my sister Kiana thriving in her career at NAB following her studies at Macleay, I knew the college was fundamental to me getting industry knowledge. The Digital Media course Macleay offered exactly what I was looking for – a broad introduction into all of the areas of digital.
What was the Macleay experience like?
I really enjoyed the fast-paced, one-year Diploma of Digital Media that Macleay offers as I was super eager to get into the workforce and start learning on the job. The small classes were so beneficial and really suited my personality.
I learn best when asking questions and was able to have a personable relationship with the teachers – they really care about all their students.
Where did you intern?
I began interning two days a week at Digivizer in January 2017, while studying at Macleay three days a week. I definitely wouldn't have been able to obtain my internship without the backing of Macleay's education. After interning at Digivizer for six months, they offered me a full-time job in the Creative Services team once I had finished my course at Macleay.
What advice would you give to current Macleay students?
Be a sponge. Absorb as much as you can. There is so much knowledge to be shared by the teachers, peers and all the resources Macleay offers which is invaluable.
Update:
Tanika was employed by Digivizer for two years and then moved to the National Rugby League to take up a role as a Social Content Producer.
