Dr Manny Aston teaches the consumer psychology, marketing and creativity units at Macleay College. He is also the Business Internship Co-ordinator, having close to 30 years of teaching experience in secondary schools, universities, TAFE and private colleges.
He holds degrees at Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral levels within the fields of psychology, education, communications and the creative arts. With a background in film and television, Manny is also a published playwright and author of numerous creative and academic texts.
His book Study Right has become one of Australia’s best selling ‘How to Study’ guides. He continues to contribute to various mainstream and academic publications. Manny has been lecturing at Macleay College for over ten years.

Very eclectic - film and television, psychology, advertising, writing, education.
How did you get into the industry?
I was in the right place at the right time.
What is the biggest difference in the industry since you were at university?
I-things (iPads, iPhones) - mobile communications and technology.
What do you do when you are not teaching?
Writing. Parenting. Relaxing (not always in that order).
What do you enjoy about teaching at Macleay?
It's a boutique college - we get to know our students through the whole of their course.
What subjects do you teach at Macleay?
Consumer Behaviour mainly, and any psychology related subjects; and creativity related subjects.
What is the best advice you give your students?
Firstly, turn up ... then enjoy the business of learning!
