Give us a quick run down on your background?
I worked my entire career in the business side of the music industry in marketing, management and digital distribution.
How did you get into the industry?
I followed my passion and backed it up with a degree in Economics and Marketing.
What is the biggest difference in the industry since you were at university?
Back then it was cool to stay with one company for 10 years or longer, no one does this anymore. In my first year after Uni the internet and email went mainstream, we didn't have mobile phones, we were communicating by fax and landline phones.
When we were writing to a client we said everything we needed to say and we actually had time to focus and project manage big campaigns.
What do you do when you are not teaching?
I own a marketing and distribution company called TMC (themusicconnection) specialising in electric guitars from Germany by the brand Duesenberg, Sandberg and Nik Huber.
I also love motorbike riding and playing guitar in my band KMPLCT.
What do you enjoy about teaching at Macleay?
Small classes, modern approach to teaching with positive psychology. The students are very entrepreneurial.
What subjects do you teach at Macleay?
Foundations of Marketing, Business Research and Strategic Management
What is the best advice you give your students?
Follow your passion, back it up with a degree, start your career in Australia and then leave to work overseas...
